Lesson 4: “The Word and Will of God”
The Word of God = Written and Living Word Jesus Christ
The Will of God = The Pleasure of God
Romans 12:1, 2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Renewing the mind to “test and approve” that good and “fully agreeable” and “complete” perfect “good pleasure” of God.
Our mind of the flesh ruled by our senses and the world, must be transformed to operating as we are designed to in the new birth with the mind of Christ. We have the mind of Christ. We have the thoughts of Christ. We have the faith of Jesus Christ! We do the works of Christ. We have the Spirit of Christ.
We All Have Faith!
We are responsible to appropriate it!
Ephesians 2:8 The Gift of God
Romans 12:3 The Measure of Faith
II Corinthians 4:13 The Spirit of Faith
Galatians 5:22,23 Fruit of Faith
Romans 10:8 Word of Faith
I John 5:14, 15 “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.'
Confidence: 3954 parrhesia [from pas – all, any, every, the whole and rhea – through the idea of pouring forth; to utter, to speak or say];
all out-spokeness , ie. frankness, bluntness, publicity; by implying assurance:- bold (-ly, -ness, -ness of speech), confidence, freely, openly, plainly
Acts 28:30, 31 “And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.“
Hebrews 10:32-36 “…Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”
Afflictions: 3804 pathema; something undergone, ie hardship or pain; an emotion or influence

Matthew 13:20,21 ‘But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.”
We must renew our mind daily to apply the Word to our lives and be rooted and grounded in the Word so that when persecution comes, we are able to stand and not stumble.
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Ephesians 6:19, 20 “And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
Speak the Word with Boldness
Acts 4:13 “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”
Acts 4:29-31 “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By
stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
The Holy Spirit brings the boldness to proclaim the Word of God!
Boldness: 1a) fearless before danger: intrepid b) showing or requiring a daring spirit 3) assured, confident 4) standing out prominently: conspicuous
Boldness is the opposite of fear. When we speak the Word in boldness, our fears are dispelled.
Ephesians 3:8-12 Philippians 1:20 Hebrews 10:19 I John 4:17
The boldness is in Him , not ourselves;
yet we are “all out-spoken” about Him and His Word!
Acts 10: 44-46 “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.”

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”
